A car is a wheeled, motorized vehicle and is the most widely used method of transport world wide. Nearly all developed nations have an infrastructure that accommodates cars and other motor vehicles such is the importance of the car in modern society.
The development of the car can be traced back as far as 1806 to Francois Issac de Rivaz who was responsible for the design of the first internal combustion engine, however it is Henry Ford who is most widely acknowledged as the father of the modern motor car due to his implementation of the assembly line concept for the mass production of his Model T automobile, the first affordable and widely available car.

Recently the number of cars on our roads has become a world wide concern due the polluting affect of their emissions on our environment and the demand for fossils fuels, supplies of which are diminishing, that they create. Due to the environmental issues stemming from the modern motor car one could expect to see further developments in the field of energy efficient and environmental friendly cars with more research into the field of bio-fuels or electrical energy as a source of energy to power our cars.
